Therapy Dog Visiting. Wellness Residency Begins
event
Wellness Residency
Over the next four months, our classes will take part in a Wellness Residency which has been developed using our Mental Health survey data. By targeting specific survey measures, we hope to ensure that all students feel safe , happy, and cared for at St. Angela
School!
Our guest presenter is Mrs. Jill Mitchell, a teacher and consultant with Evergreen Catholic Schools. She brings a wealth of background experience to this learning opportunity!
Topics for visits:
In February students will learn that ALL feelings are okay. There will be an opportunity to discuss how emotions 'feel' in the body and ways to help get them get 'unstuck' by talking to a safe adult.
Therapy Dog
We are excited to welcome back Dallas the therapy dog! Dallas belongs to Kyle Pisani who is a teacher at Sir John Thompson and the visit is coordinated through CAAWLS. Kyle has suggested that any students identified with allergies or who are fearful of dogs
will sit at the side of the room so he can avoid contact with them. Students can also be removed from the class during the visit if necessary. He will visit St. Angela on February 17 and 24.
Please contact your child's teacher if you feel your child should be seat ed away from the dog or outside the classroom due to allergies or fear.
