Two very important events take place on Wednesday, February 14, and both should be recognized. The joy, treats and festival of Shrove Tuesday tie in closely with the celebration and activities of Valentine’s Day. We ask that this year, Valentine’s celebrations be moved to Tuesday, February 13th. The solemn observance of Ash Wednesday should not be overshadowed by other celebrations.
